Schloss Malberg On a rock plateau towers the 300 year old baroque castle over the village Malberg. There are guided tours on Saturday afternoons from April to October. Groups of minimally 15 persons
can book a tour on a chosen time. Malberg is mentioned for the first time in 893 AD. There are occasional exhibits and concerts throughout the year. |

Burg Vianden The castle of Vianden is one of the largest medieval castles of Luxembourg. The oldest part dates back to the 8th century and was till 1820 owned for centuries by the Dutch house of Orange.
From 1978 the castle is owned by the state of Luxembourg who restored it to the original state. A visit is worthwhile and possible throughout the whole year. (29 mi / 47 km)

Cochem Reichsburg Cochem exists since 1000 AD and in the year 1151 it became a state castle. In 1689 the castle was set on fire but was rebuild in 1868. The castle is in a perfect state and beautifully furnished.

Castles of Manderscheid The castles consist of the Oberburg (upper castle) and Niederburg (lower castle). They symbolise the history of the area that was controlled by two blocks of power. The Oberburg belonged to Trier,

Stiftskirche Kyllburg The town Kyllburg, from 800 AD, was in the middle ages the centre of the region with it's own jurisdiction and court. In 1276 Heinrich von Finstingen ordered to build a monastery that existed till 1803.

Kloster Sankt Thomas In Sankt Thomas stands a former Cistercian cloister. The most valuable part of the abbey is the Roman abbey church from 1222 AD.
The cloister is now a sort of seminary of the diocese of Trier. You cannot enter the cloister itself but you can follow the Naturlehrpfad (Nature learning path) of 1.5 mi (2,5 km),
